Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo launched an upgraded Rakyat Digital portal at the AI Malaysia Takeover 2026 event, with free generative AI access for 100,000 Malaysian youths. According to Digital News Asia, those aged 18 to 30 who complete selected modules get three months of access, starting from 31 August in four cohorts of 25,000.
U Mobile has announced a strategic collaboration with OpenAI as part of its push to become Malaysia's first AI-enabled telecommunications provider. According to Lowyat.NET, the telco gets early access to OpenAI's latest frontier models, while AWS will provide cloud infrastructure and technical expertise.
